The problem wasn't the leather. It wasn't the heel height. It was the last — the form every boot is built on. Designer boots are built on narrow lasts optimised for showroom aesthetics. Nobody goes back and checks how it feels at hour ten.
In 2019, Sophia flew to Italy. She spent six months working with a family-owned atelier in Marche — the same region that has made fine leather goods for over four centuries — to design a last from scratch. Wider calf. Wider ankle. Deeper toe box. The comfort first, the silhouette second.
